Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about watching and publishing on My TV Channel.
Say "Hey Siri, play [channel name] on My TV Channel" and the app opens and starts playback automatically. Siri matches by channel name, handle, and keywords.
Works on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. You can also add the action to the Shortcuts app for automations.
The For You tab builds a personalized feed from your favorited channels. Tap the heart icon on any channel to add it to your favorites.
For You plays a continuous mix of recent content from those channels, refreshed every 12 hours. If you have no favorites yet, the tab shows instructions to get started.
Yes. Audio-only mode plays just the audio track at 128 kbps, saving bandwidth and battery.
On Mac, the app automatically switches to audio-only when the window is in the background. On iPhone and iPad, toggle audio-only from the player controls.
If the publisher has enabled downloads, you see a download button on the asset. Tap it to save the video (or audio-only version) to your device.
Available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac (not Apple TV). Downloaded content appears in your Recordings tab and stays until you delete it.
If a channel requires a code to watch, enter the access code you received from the publisher. The code unlocks the channel for a set period (shown after redemption).
Each code can only be used once. If the code is invalid or expired, you will see an error message.
Channels with chat enabled show a chat bubble icon in the player. On iPhone and Mac, tap it to open a live chat overlay powered by the channel's Discord server.
On Apple TV, chat is read-only — scan the QR code on screen to join the conversation from your phone. You need a Discord account to send messages.
Some programs display a purple quiz button during playback. Tap it to open an interactive quiz on 9pmquiz.com, linked to the current show.
On Apple TV, scan the QR code displayed on screen to open the quiz on your phone. Not all programs have quizzes — the button only appears when the publisher has attached a quiz code.
Sign in, go to the Publisher tab, tap Create Channel, and choose location-based or thematic. Fill in your channel details, subscribe to a publisher tier (Starter or higher), and your channel is live.
Open the Studio view on macOS (requires Pro tier or higher). Drag and drop videos from your asset library onto the timeline to build your schedule.
You can set exact start times, reorder items, search and filter assets by tags, and attach quiz codes to individual programs. Lower tiers use automatic scheduling (weighted random rotation).
- Create a quiz at 9pmquiz.com and copy the 12-letter code
- In Studio (macOS), select a schedule item and paste the quiz code
- Viewers see a purple quiz button during that program
- On Apple TV, a QR code appears so viewers can play on their phone
Each schedule item can have its own quiz — the same video scheduled at different times can link to different quizzes.
Chat uses your existing Discord server. In your channel settings, enter your Discord Server ID and Channel ID. Viewers on iPhone and Mac get an interactive chat overlay; Apple TV viewers see a read-only feed with a QR code to join.
For a step-by-step setup guide, see How to Add Discord Chat to Your TV Channel.
